"There is no doubt in my mind that the three months I spent as a Lachlan Macquarie Intern have played an integral role in my personal and professional development. On an academic level, the internship helped me to consolidate much of what I learned at university and place this knowledge into a broader and more comprehensive framework. One of the highlights for me was engaging with the primary texts of some of the greatest thinkers of western civilization. My reading of these great texts not only helped me to develop my own worldview, but also to better appreciate the history of other worldviews on offer in the marketplace. And what a privilege it was to have such sought-after lecturers and academics come to facilitate our group discussions of these texts! On a more personal level, I carry away from this experience a great fondness towards all of the remarkable people I encountered during the internship. Living in community was certainly a highlight for me, especially given the character formation and growth that took place during this time. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful networks I made during this three month internship. It was a great encouragement to meet so many Christian leaders full of humility and integrity, who share in common their search for all that is good, true and beautiful."
