Andrew

Andrew initially compled tertiary studies at the University of Tasmania consisting of a science degree majoring in chemistry, and this was followed by post graduate studies in organometallic catalysts leading to the award of Doctor of Philosophy. Andrew has worked with a powder manufacturer for the last 12 years, helping to develop new aluminum compunds. In addition to this Andrew has worked in youth ministry and participated with community welfare groups, with the desire to see transformation in individuals to create strong healthy society. It is this underlying passion that motivated participation in the Lachlan Macquarie Internship.
 

Anne

Anne has completed two degrees in Social Work with first class Honours, and Arts with Social Science and History majors. The purpose of these two degrees  was to inform and develop understanding to found an holistic effective pregnancy support organsiation. This is now operational and offers programs and support to those unsupported in pregnancy;those living with pregnancy loss; it also provides education for secondary schools and advocacy for teen mums to complete secondary education. Anne is particularly keen to impact policy regarding Adoption in Australia, and with this in mind hopes to begin her PhD in Social Science in 2012.

 

Belinda

Belinda travelled widely before living and studying in the USA for 6 years. When she came back to Australia she worked in the NSW parliament house for an upper house member. Following that she managed a growing design & website studio before moving to Perth. Belinda has spent the last 8 years as a bible college teacher and a pastor at a large Pentecostal Church, working mainly with missions. She has recently resigned from her position in order to return to the marketplace due to her passion and interest in politics.

Chelsea

Chelsea has recently completed a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts (Philosophy) at the University of Adelaide. She is a part time researcher with a bioethics institute, as well as the secretary of a pro-life organisation. She is also an accredited teacher of natural family planning with the Australian Council of Natural Family Planning, Australia and has been involved in teaching values-based sex education in schools.

John

John did his undergraduate studies in environmental engineering at the University of Technology in Tasmania. He then worked with various engineering companies, including General Electric, recieving multiple awards for his work. He then served as a pastor in a local church for several years, before entering the financial services sector. John is looking to do further post-graduate studies in social and political science in order to strategically shape public policy.



Phillip

Phil is a respected strategic advisor, international businessman and experienced marketing practitioner, specialising in strategic planning and project development. Over the course of his career he has been involved in a broad range of industries including property development, marketing services, NGO and NPO’s. He has also worked with many different cultures and countries around the world, particularly Australia, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Phil has helped found, as well as held vice-president positions and directorships in a range of Financial and Business Councils. He has also served on sub committees and presented to international forums such as APEC, ASEAN and ICCC.  Phil believes in providing a hand up, not a hand out and is seeking in the future to serve in the broader arena of public policy and international affairs.
 

Rohan

Rohan has recently finished his studies at the Australian National University, graduating with an Arts degree majoring in Philosophical study. He also has a passion for theology and has been accepted to a post-graduate course at Moore Theological Centre. He has previously worked as a researcher at the Australian Christian Lobby, and has a strong interest in the engagement of faith, politics and culture.

Sarah

After recieving Dux of School award at a college in Canberra, Sarah studied Creative Arts at the Wesley Institute for Ministry and the Arts in Sydney, receiving the award for Artistic excellence and Academic Acheiving. Sarah has worked in the Public Service with the Australian Tax Office for seven years, and is now continuing studies in Christian Counselling and Pastoral Care. Sarah loves the arts, and believe they are originally intended as a vehicle of beauty, wisdom and truth.
